Urban Decay Cosmetics came out with the original, “Naked” about two years ago, and the newer version “Naked 2”, late last year. Both of these eye shadow palettes are great for every skin tone, and easy for everyone to use. They both come complete with 12 amazing colors, which you can mix and match, and will never get sick of wearing the same color everyday. If you already have the original “Naked” palette, don’t be in a hurry to buy the “Naked 2” palette because the colors in both are pretty similar. If you don’t have the original, then I would definitely suggest that you get the “Naked 2” palette. The original only has 2 matte shadows and the newer one has 3 (vanilla, brown, and black). I think that the original colors were a little too shimmery, so I was glad to see the new palette has 3 to tone down and blend with
Two small 24/7 eyeliners (black and brown) come with the original palette, and a dual side brush with the newer. One side of the brush has a crease/blending brush, the other a small flat brush great for applying darker colors more evenly. The packaging has also been changed from the original felt case that stayed shut with a magnet to the newer case which is a tin/plastic case that snaps shut making it less likely to break or make a mess. The mirror is much bigger in the new palette making it so easy to apply when you’re on the go.
My favorite thing about both of these palettes is that instead of digging for the color of eye shadows you want to wear, opening them all separately, and packing them all separate when you travel, these palettes make my life so much easier by saving time when I do my makeup because I can open one case and still have a variety of choices to choose from. The best advise I can give for using these eye shadows is to always wear an eye shadow primer to make your shadow last all day long.
