Shaving
Shaving is the most common and traditional hair removal technique. However, many people that are shaving are doing it incorrectly. Read below to learn all that you will need to know to shave properly.
Tools for Shaving
- Razor- You will want to buy a quality razor. They tend to be expensive, but it will be well worth it in the long run.
- Shave gel- Don’t just use soap, it can cause irritation and razor burn. Buy quality shave gel that has plenty of moisturizers in it.
- Warm water- shaving is best done in the bath. Never shave your legs without water, even if you are in a hurry. This will cause extreme irritation and razor burn!
- A moisturizing body lotion.
- When you are shaving, go slow! Trying to rush the process will only result in razor burn, irritation and cuts.
- Don’t use too hot or too cold of water. Anything besides warm water can cause irritation.
- Change your razor heads often. Razors can get dull quickly making it very hard to do a good shaving job. Also, razors can have bacteria in them if they are not changed often.
- If you don’t have any shave gel on hand, use conditioner. It works well because it conditions the skin and allows for a clean, close shave without irritation.
- If you shave your legs everyday and you find that they are starting to get irritated, try another form of hair removal. Try waxing or laser hair removal for a while and give your legs a much-needed break from shaving.
- Always moisturizer your legs after you shave. Shaving tends to be extremely drying to the legs.If you find your legs getting irritated easily, you might want to try switching razor and shave gel brands.
