Drawing my successful business experience in Japan, and combining it with the past 10 years of service in the Flat Iron district, I have established a salon that provides a first class New York City experience. My 35 years of immersion in this industry are devoted to making this salon a spiritual refuge from the ravages of everyday life.”

The 3R System

02 Salon provides a calming atmosphere for our customers and a creative haven for our team of stylists. Owner, Hiroshi Kawanishi, already known for his unique sculptural haircutting technique has now, with the opening of his first US salon, pioneered an innovative customer service system called the 3R’s. Each customer chooses one of three service categories in accordance with his or her needs for that particular visit. These services categories are Silver, Mocha and Blue. The customer indicated his or her choice by selecting one of three colored robes in a private changing room.

The Products

After 20 years of experience in using different products we found that the PHYTO line from the shampoos to the finishing products keep the integrity of the hair. We look at it as medicine for the hair not only treating the effect of the damage but also getting to the cause of the problem, which leaves your hair healthier. It is not enough that treatment be done in the salon but to continue the maintenance at home so that the hair remain beautiful for it to look ultimate at its best.
