I didn’t realize that obesity was such a problem in the United States, but according to a recent study of Americans, 34.5% of women and 28.7% of men are obese. This is an alarmingly, not to mention unhealthy, statistic.
This is undoubtedly due to a combination of unhealthy eating habits, lack of physical exercise, and some genetic disorders. Fast food is just so easy and, well, fast! But it’s doing terrible things to our health so it’s time to get back in shape! Here are some quick and easy tips to loosing those few extra pounds:
1. Take a lunch to work. Instead of eating out every day, pack a sandwich and an orange. Not only is this healthier than a hamburger, but your wallet will be thanking you too!
2. Make time to exercise. A good, and achievable, goal is 20 minutes a day. This can include walking the dog, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or going to the gym. Whatever you do that keeps your body active is better than nothing!
3. Find alternatives to movie watching. I know we all like a good movie, but especially now that it is warming up, find an activity that requires you to be involved. Mini golfing, hiking, frisbee, or bowling are just a few suggestions.
4. Limit how often you eat out. Try making dinner instead of going to a restaurant. Make a goal to cut down to eating out once a week. Again, you save money and calories!
These are easy tips and can help cut back on money and weight! With these in mind, have a great weekend!

So true. I had to *radically* change my life to lose 60 pounds and am now attmpting to keep it off. I spend one afternoon a week cooking and packing lunches for the next week, and try to get to the gym as often as possible. When I can’t get to the gym I try to walk the last leg to work - about 25-30 minutes.
I did gian some weight back (which I’m working on getting off again) and do you know what it was due to - eating out too much! I don’t care how diet-friendly the meal is, the calories add up.
