There has been a lot of talk lately about one of Gwen Stefani’s songs and what exactly she means by a ‘hollaback girl.’ So I thought I would write an entry to help clear things about and share some gossip about Gwen.
A ‘hollaback girl’ comes from cheerleading terms. A cheerleader hollers to the crowd and a ‘hollaback girl’ hollers back to the cheerleaders, repeating what they have said. So, a ‘hollaback girl’ is a follower, someone who lets others lead the way. An interesting song for Gwen, I think.
Here are some more interesting notes on Gwen Stefani.
• Gwen Stefani has her own clothing line, L.A.M.B. She has some really cute jackets, but I think her pants are my favorite. She also sells handbags and purses. Celebrities such as Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra have been seen wearing her clothes.
• While she is best known for being the lead singer of No Doubt, since 2004, she has also been pursuing a solo singing career.
• Gwen is pregnant and expecting a baby girl in June.
• Gwen’s natural hair color is brown, but she usually colors it platinum blonde.
• Gwen Stefani is known for her bright red lipstick.
• She played the role of Jean Harlow in the movie The Aviator. Her makeup in that movie included MAC blush and Max Factor mascara.
