Now that we are full swing into summer, lots of women are complaining about freckles and looking for a way to get rid of them, or at least fade them to be unnoticeable. There are a lot of different ways to deal with freckles, so let’s go over them!
I want to start by saying that most people think freckles are adorable and endearing. They aren’t something to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. But if you still want help getting rid of your freckles, here you go.
Freckles are just spots of the skin pigment melanin. Your skin produces melanin to protect your body from UV rays, so increased exposure to the sun causes more melanin to be produced, resulting in more freckles. So the best and easiest way to get rid of freckles is to protect your skin from the sun. Wear a hat and use sunscreen when you are going to be out in the sun.
There are tons of other ways to naturally deal with freckles:
1. Wash your face with sour milk. This will gently peel your skin without causing irritation.
2. Use lemon juice. This can be applied with your fingers; you don’t have to rub a lemon peel on your face.
3. Fruit and vegetable masks are another great solution to freckles. Apricots, strawberries, and cucumbers work especially well.
4. Try a sour cream mask.
5. Increase your intake of Vitamin C, as the helps your skin be less sensitive to the sun.
6. Wear concealer, foundation, and a loose powder to cover up your freckles and make them less visible.
There are other ways to fade freckles that are less natural, but may work for you depending on your situation:
1. You can remove freckles with laser surgery, but this may leave scars and cause extreme skin irritation, so be careful.
2. There are also various products that can be used as skin lighteners or peelers. A couple of good ones are Kojic acid and alpha hydroxy acids. Again, these may irritate your skin, so use them with caution.
