Help Your Hair Grow Faster

I have been on a quest to grow my hair out long, for the majority of my life I have had short hair and decided that I was ready for a change. The difficult thing about growing hair out is having patience, which is something I lack! It is so much easier to cut your hair instead of having the patience to grow it out. I have found a few different things to help my hair grow faster that might help you too.

Coconut Oil: I massage coconut oil into my scalp a few times a week and let it sit in my hair for a few hours before washing it out. The oils and proteins in the coconut oil keep your hair from losing protein and prevents hair from breaking and strengthens and moisturizes the hair shaft. By massaging it into the scalp it stimulates circulation and promotes growth of hair follicles as well as strengthens the roots. You can get coconut oil at any natural food stores.

Biotin: Biotin is a helpful nutrient for hair growth because it benefits the growth of cells. I take a few Biotin pills a day with a snack or meal and have seen a big difference in how fast my hair has been growing. I got my Biotin at Target for only a few dollars, but you can get it at any supercenter or drug store.

Spring and Summer Trend Alert: Bright Bold Lips

Bright lips have been a huge trend this spring and will be carrying into summer. I personally love this trend because I think that it is so easy to swipe on some bright lipstick and a coat of mascara and call it good for the day. Even a sheer wash of a bright color on your lips will really liven up your entire face and give you a fresh and fun glow.

If you dare to go bold, there are many great options for you. Some of my personal favorites are shown below. You have to be cautious when wearing these bolder bright colors that you don’t over do the look. To avoid looking like a clown, make sure that the rest of your makeup is very minimal, use a light hand with a blush that coordinates with your lips, and avoid dark eye shadow. If you want to wear a smoky eye, do not pair it with a bold lip; choose one facial feature to enhance to avoid looking too made up.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain and Balm-Passion: Bright poppy colored pink that would flatter all skin tones.

Ulta Lip Crayon- Dynamite: Bright red with orange undertones that would flatter all skin tones.

Mac- Vegas Volt: A bright orange coral color that looks especially great on warm skin tones. It is an amplified formula so be prepared for major staying power and having your lips stained all day.

If wearing super bold lips is out of your comfort zone, but you still want to be on trend, try using a bright colored gloss or balm to give your lips a sheer wash of color that is both fashion-forward and comfortable for you. Pictured below are some of my favorite options for a sheer, but colorful lip. The nice thing about going with a little more sheer color on your lips is that it will go with any makeup look you feel like wearing. If you want to wear a black smoky eye, go for it and add a little bright lip gloss to finish the look.

Mac- Lustering: Beautiful pink toned coral that is flattering on everyone. This is a Lustre formula so it goes on very sheer, but is buildable so it is easy to achieve your desired look.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter- Raspberry Pie: Deep berry color that would look great on darker complexions. The Lip Butter formula feels as moisturizing as a chap stick, but has the color pay off of a gloss, you can’t go wrong with any of the color choices.

Mary Kay Nourishing Lip Gloss- Melon Sorbet: The prefect coral lip gloss, this is beautiful on everyone.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Hydrafull Gloss- Sorbet: Bright poppy color pink that can be worn very sheer for little color pay off, or applied heavily for a much brighter lip. This is such a fun color for summer!

Korres Lip Butter- Pomegranate: I love this stuff, it makes my lips feel so soft and it feels just like wearing chap stick. This is an effortless product that gives your lips a nice flush of color, great for all skin tones.

The purpose of a facial mask is to improve the overall appearance of your skin and there are countless different kinds of masks that are made to specifically improve different skin types. You can get a facial mask to reduce oil, brighten your skin, moisturize, reduce wrinkles, and a variety of other specific skin issues. I put this brightening facial mask to the test, here are the results.

Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

This is a jet-black peel off mask that claims to purify, detoxify, and brighten the skin. To use you apply to clean, dry skin avoiding eyebrows, hairline, lips, and eye area. Leave on for 15-20 minutes then peel off, and rinse away any residue.

What I liked:

My skin really did look brighter and refreshed.
It removed any dead skin.
My pores appeared cleaner and visibly smaller after using.
When peeling it off it removed some facial hair, so you get a bonus wax.
It looks awesome, the packaging as well as the product is appealing.
My face felt softer and smoother.
Paraben and Sulfate free and free from any synthetic dyes or fragrance.

What I didn’t like:

You have to use a fairly thick layer or else it is impossible to peel off.
The pieces of peeled off mask need to be thrown away instead of washed down the sink because they make quite the mess.
I think the price is a little steep for only 2.8 ounces.
It is more time consuming than a mask that you could wash off.

Overall I really like this mask, I was worried that it might irritate my sensitive skin, but it did not bother it at all even when using once a week. I got mine from Sephora, it retails for $34 per tube and I will for sure re-purchase. Have you tried this, what did you think?
