Fall Makeup Colors

Fall is a great time to tone down the makeup colors a bit. The bright, pastel, and shocking colors of spring and summer just won’t do anymore! The easiest way to identify great makeup colors for the fall is to look outside at the leaves as they change colors. If it works for nature, it will work for you! So hot colors this fall include browns, oranges, bronzes, dark reds and greens, plums, and grays.

My two favorite colors this fall, though, are purple and gold. Again, they are both toned down from the bright pastels of earlier seasons, but they still draw attention and can really make your eyes pop! As far as lips go this fall, red is in, just don’t think too bright red! Instead, try cranberries or under-toned cherries. No lipstick, but just lip-gloss is also big this fall.

In keeping with autumn’s naturish feel, try to go as natural as possible this fall. Don’t cake on your makeup. It will just end up rubbing off on your sweater or turtleneck, and that’s never an attractive look. Try a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation.

Here’s a fun fall tip for applying eye shadow that will look great for the autumn. Think of a sunset, the color is always darkest near the horizon and then gets lighter the higher in the sky you look. Mirror that with your eye shadow. Start darkest at your eyelashes, and gradually lighten the color as you near your eyebrows.
