Exercise
When it comes to beauty, one might ask themselves what does exercise have to do with inner beauty? The answer might surprise you when I say “A LOT!” There are many reasons why I would classify exercise as such, but mostly it is for 4 things.
- When you look “good” you feel good
- It creates endorphins in your head
- It can clear your head
- When you feel good you look good (let me explain)
I’m sure everyone knows when they have had the moment where they say to themselves “Dang! I look good!” When you exercise and start to trim up, your self confidence goes way up. You don’t just have to exercise to lose weight, you can do it to refresh your body. You walk around with your head held high and ready to take on the world. You have your sassy skirt on with those sexy heels that you have been saving for the right moment. Break them out! You’re feeling good about yourself and want everyone to know it!
When you are out exercising, many great things are going on in your body. You don’t just have to exercise to lose weight. Just a few of these include: strengthening your heart and your muscles, reducing your body fat (who doesn’t want that?), ab exercise, and lowering your blood pressure. But, one other benefit that in some ways may outweigh the physical aspect is that it will help with your mental and emotional health. When you are exercising, you are creating endorphins in your head that can reduce your perception of pain and also trigger a positive feeling. Bottom line? Exercise and be happy! I don’t know about you, but when I am really stressed out, I need to burn some energy and get some ab exercise. I can do it either on the chocolate bars that I have stashed for such occasions, or I can take it out on the pavement with every stride I take. Some days I dash for the chocolate and others I resort to the running. While I’m out with nature getting some much needed exercise, I mull the problems of the day over in my head. Even though I might not get them resolved by the end of my run, I just feel better about the whole situation and can think with level head to take on the issues at hand. That’s why I’m a Cookie Athlete!
When you feel good you look good. I know that sounds really similar to the first point that I made, but it is slightly different. When you feel good, everyone will see it in your demeanor and your face. You’d be surprised at the number of people who can accurately read body language, besides the few of us that can just get a guesstimate of what’s going on with our neighbors, friends, or coworkers. When you feel good you have a completely different aura around you than when you are sick or in the dumps. It’s just something we as humans can sense from one another. So basically…when you are feelin’ it, you are lookin’ like it!
