Does Hoodia Really Work?

With everyone wanting to trim down to look great in a summer bikini, lots of women are thinking about and trying new weight loss programs or pills. One of the latest fads in weight loss is the hoodia diet.

Hoodia is a cactus found in the Kalahari Desert of Africa and is used by the natives to control their hunger on long hunting expeditions. Hoodia is thought to stimulate chemicals in the brain that make you feel full. So, since you don’t feel as hungry as you did before, you eat less and lose weight.

While many people are using hoodia and say they love the results, many doctors have a different opinion. They say there is no conclusive evidence that hoodia is an effective appetite suppressant, and no research has been done the long-term effects of the diet pill.

Also, hoodia can be very expensive, costing as much as $50 for a 30 day supply. I’ve have never tried hoodia, so I don’t have any personal experiences to share on whether or not it’s effective. I do know this much though; there is always a new diet fad on the market, but that doesn’t change the fact that for most people, a healthy lifestyle of eating and exercising is the best way to lose weight and stay in shape.

I’m curious if anyone has any experiences with using hoodia or has noticed any side effects from the diet pill.
