DIY Face Mask

Avocado, Yogurt and Honey Face Mask

For the first time in months, I left my baby girl at home with her dad for a girl’s night out. I went to a relaxation class with a group of women, where we did facials, yoga and learned a few relaxation techniques to help your mind and body wind down at the end of the day. It was awesome to have a few hours to myself to relax! I wanted to share the recipe for the facial mask I did, because it left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. For all you moms who just need a little bit of me-time, this is a great way to enjoy it.

Ingredients:
• 1 avocado
• 1 Tbsp honey
• 1 Tbsp yogurt

Preparation:
Slice the avocado in half and take off the seed. Scoop the avocado flesh from its peel and start mashing with a fork. Stir in the honey, and then yogurt. Wash your face with warm water, and pat dry with a towel. Apply the paste onto your face and neck. Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water. For tighter pores, rinse again with cool water right after warm water, and pat dry with a towel.

What each ingredient does for your skin:
Avocado:  A great source of vitamin E and contains natural oils that are great for dry skin. Avocados are also a good source of potassium that can help maintain your skin’s natural glow.
Honey: A natural astringent that can reduce swelling and inflammation.
Yogurt: A gentle cleanser that softens and hydrates the skin while tightening wrinkles and refining pores.
