I saw a recipe on Pinterest for a a DIY bye bye blackhead scrub, and decided to give it a shot! I have always had blackheads on my chin and nose, and am constantly looking for ways to get rid of them.
1 Tbs. Granulated Sugar
1 Tbs. Baking Soda
2 Tbs. Water.
You start by combining the above ingredients, it is supposed to make a paste that you run into your skin. I trusted the recipe and it was not paste like at all, in fact it was so watery that I could hardly get it to stick to my face. So I decided to just keep adding baking soda and water until it was thick enough to apply to my face. I ended up having a ton of left over that was wasted, so my recommendation would be to gradually add the water to make the paste instead of adding it all at once so you don’t end up with the same problem that I had.
After the paste was mixed, I rubbed it into my skin and let it sit for about 12 minutes. At first, it didn’t really feel like it was working at all, but at about the ten minute mark I began to feel my face tingle a bit in spots. It was a little difficult to rinse off, and took a few times over with a wash cloth to remove it all.
Overall, I liked the way that this scrub made my skin feel and it is super inexpensive to make. I think that I need to try it a few more times before I see more visible results, but my pores did seem to appear a little cleaner after one use.
Give it a try, and let me know what you think!
