Have you ever had blackheads and wondered what they were and how to get rid of them? Blackheads are caused by the overproduction of oil from the glands of your face. When there is too much oil, it gets trapped in your pores and causes the blackhead to appear. There are tons of ways to treat blackheads, but here are some common home remedies and easy treatments you can buy at the store.
1. You can buy facial strips at the store that clear your pores and get rid of blackheads. One great brand that I love is Biore. They have Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips that get rid of blackheads fast! And they aren’t too expensive.
2. Here’s a fun at home way to get rid of blackheads: take the ink stick out of a pen and put the opening of the clear end over the blackhead and twist it back and forth. The blackhead will pop out and after it does, put something cold on the opening to close it up so more oil and dirt doesn’t get in!
3. You can also steam your blackheads out. When your face heats up, your pores expand, and you can get rid of the blackheads.
4. Try putting Elmer’s glue-paint on your face and letting it dry. Leave it on for a few minutes and then peel it off and see all the dirt it pulls away!
5. Put undiluted lemon juice on your blackheads three times a day.
6. Apply warm honey to your blackheads to get rid of them fast! Leave it on for 15 minutes before you wash it off!
7. Mix equal parts of baking soda and water and massage this into your skin for 3 minutes.
8. A poultice of grated potatoes is a great way to prevent and treat blackheads.
9. Scrub your face with green tea a couple of times a week. You can even just open up the tea bag after you drink green tea and use that!
10. Mix warm water, Epsom salt, and iodine to loosen blackheads.
No matter which way you choose, blackheads aren’t too difficult to get rid of and don’t have to be a part of your life! My favorite on this list is the paste of baking soda and water. It works really well and feels great!

I have, for some uneartly reason, blackheads along my lip line and on the bridge of my nose. I have yet to try the remedies, but you should just know that I appreciate that they are free and you offer them on a simple read-out page. It is greatly appreciated by a cheerleader/honor student who hates showing her face!
