With fall just around the corner, I know what is on everyone’s mind: going back to school and looking fabulous while doing it. So how do you go back to school looking beautiful and not break a sweat? Don’t worry, we’ve got you’ve covered.
Skincare & Makeup- Because the weather will soon be getting colder, you will need to update your skincare routine from what you had been using during the summer months. To make the transition from summer skincare to fall skincare smoothly, follow a few simple tips. While in summer you were probably just using a cream cleanser to wash your face, you will want to integrate an exfoliating wash into your routine in the fall and winter months to avoid flaky skin that can often occur in cold weather. Many teens find that their face is supple enough in summer to skip moisturizer altogether, you cannot do this in the fall. Apply an oil-free, skin-lightening moisturizer morning and night to keep your summer glow and to ensure that your makeup goes on smoothly. Instead of light pastels that you were using in the summer months, try deeper colors and earth tones for your eyes and face. This will give you color during those long winter months. And remember, just because its winter doesn’t mean that you can’t get sunburned. Make sure that you are using a moisturizer with SPF 15 in it to avoid getting a pink nose and cheeks.
Fashion- While in summer you probably lived in your swimsuit, denim mini and pink tank, fall is a time for more conservative and sophisticated choices when it comes to fashion. Grab your best girlfriends, hit your local mall and follow these simple fall fashion tips. Make finding great fitting jeans a priority this year. I know that jeans shopping can often be a painful process, and if you are anything like me, you will just buy a pair after hours of unsuccessful shopping even if they are a less than perfect fit. This year, be prepared to go home empty handed and to go to several different stores before you buy anything. Also, be prepared to spend a little more than you might like because jeans are a fashion staple and it will be worth it in the long run! Also, resist buying sandals when you go shoe shopping. You will need a cute pair of boots or Uggs during those winter months. As for tops, try integrating fashionable polos, western shirts and colorful long sleeved shirts into your fall wardrobe. To put the finishing touches on your new fall wardrobe, grab an army jacket and a pea coat for extreme weather and you will be good to go!
