American Idol’s Mandisa

This past week on American Idol, I was shocked to see that Mandisa, the 29 year old soul singer, was voted off the show. She seemed to be a favorite of the judges, and I know that she had my vote! I think she sings beautifully.

There has been speculation that her unexpected cut from the show had something to do with the comments she made about not being a gay advocate. She declined singing at an event that was being held in support of the gay community based on what she believes. That being said, she was quite upset about speculation that she supported groups that discourage homosexuality. Her exact words were, “It broke my heart. I live my life by the value system that you treat others the way you want to be treated. I let love by my guide. I absolutely hate no one.”

MandisaMandisa will be sorely missed on American Idol. She was amazingly talented, having sung with stars like Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Trisha Yearwood. Also, it was encouraging to see a heavier woman on the show. After Simon’s comments about her weight, Mandisa responded by admitting that weight can be a health problem, but so is anorexia. She wants girls to try to be healthy, but to also feel good about the way they look.

With Mandisa gone, I’m not sure who to vote for now. Any suggestions?

Well no, Miss blog administrator, I have no idea who we should vote for now. I didn’t think any of them had talent worth a damn, except her! I think she had a wonderful stage presence and great voice with a pretty smile. She was the first famous American Mandisa, and me and other were rooting for her. It is a sad state of affairs when one cannot be honest about their beliefs for fear of offending people. I think PC has gone too far and made us afraid to be who we really are. Mandisa never lied about her faith and never cast aspersions on those who disagreed with her, so this silencing is simply an attack by leftwing lobbyists imho.

Anyway, good article and you have a nice blog here. I need to look up some of your stuff on skin care, Lord knows:)
