When it comes to nail trends, there have been a few major trends that have been circling the nail world for a while that have now hit the main stream. The first major trend that is all over is the Crackle/Shatter trend. Many major nail brands such as OPI, China Glaze, and Sally Hansen have released crackle polish lines. This trend gives the nails an edgy look, like broken glass. There are a few tips to make the polish cracker better. The biggest tip is that you have to let your base polish completely dry or else the crackle effect won’t work. I would also recommend a very thin coat of crackle to get the best results and a nice topcoat to protect the manicure.

The accent nail trend has been around in the nail world for quite some time, but has recently become more popular with the rise of celebs sporting accent nails. In my opinion, this trend is the perfect way for the not so brave nail polish fans to try a bold nail polish color without being overwhelmed. This trend is an easy one to accomplish without buying new products. An accent nail is basically one nail, usually the ring finger, pinky, or thumb that is polished a different color then the rest of the nails. This trend really can showcase your personal style. My personal favorite way to showcase this trend is using glitter on the accent nail, it is a fun way to glam your manicure up without the hassle of removing glitter from every nail.
