Contestants on American Idol aren’t the only ones who benefit from the exposure of singing on national television. The already famous singers who appear on the show or have their songs performed by the contestants notice huge jumps in the popularity of their songs.
For instance, Shakira, who recently appeared on the program, saw her album jump up 11 spots on the Top 40 charts after her performance on American Idol. Maybe if Tom Cruise could somehow get on the show, his popularity would rise from the ashes. Just a thought.
I must admit that watching American Idol hasn’t been the same since Mandisa left. I don’t know why I can’t get over that! She was such a talented singer and I still think she was prematurely voted off the show.
Look at this picture I found of Shakira. I think she is beautiful. And you know she has to be to pull off purple eye shadow. I think her hair color is amazing too. Blonde works well on her.
With American Idol’s finale coming up in May, advertisers are getting ready. Fox announced on Monday that 30 second commercial spots during the show with go for $1.3 million. It kind of reminds me of the Super Bowl.
Any guesses as to who will win American Idol this year? Maybe that will be next week’s poll…..

[…] I can’t believe it! I just can’t believe that Chris Daughtry got voted off American Idol last night. I think I am more upset than I was when Mandisa went home. I honestly expected Katharine to go. She did get the next lowest amount of votes next to Chris, but still, I thought he had an easy-in for the next round. We ran a poll on this site to see which American Idol contestant people wanted to win and Chris came out the winner by far. […]
